Ministry Opportunities at St. James
More commonly known as Sunday School, Bible Group classes are available for all ages and meet regularly each Sunday before Worship at 9:15 am. We are currently using Group's Faithweaver material as our curriculum.
Music is an important part of ministry at St. James. Both vocal and handbell choirs are available for adults as well as children. In addition to the organized choirs, members often share their gift of music with the congregation during worship.
The Ladies Guild has been a vital part of St. James since its earliest days. Through various projects and efforts the Ladies Guild supports the work of St. James while offering its members a time of Christian fellowship.
Student & Families Ministry
The Student & Families Ministry is committed to partnering with parents in an effort to bring our children and teens to a fuller understanding of living a Christian life in a fun and active way. Through a mixture of social events, Bible studies and service projects, the students of St. James continue to grow in their faith.
A significant part of the Christian life is caring for those who are in need and sharing the love of Jesus with them. Through the Outreach Ministry at St. James, hundreds of people in South Louisville and beyond have received food and clothing assistance, help with rent and home heating and cooling expenses, school supplies, free health services, diapers and other baby items – plus numerous other acts of charity. Currently, a free breakfast is served every Saturday to our community friends and neighbors, while also sharing the Gospel. St. James Church also actively supports the WHAS11 Crusade for Children, and Operation Christmas Child.
Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts
Troop 2 of the Boy Scouts of America was started by the founder of St. James, George Munz. The troop has produced several Eagle Scouts over the years and continues its mission of equipping boys to become young men of character.
