The Gospel
- God created a good world: God created humanity in his image and made them rulers over his good world to cultivate it.
- Humanity rebelled against God: We rejected God's goodness and life and attempted to define good and evil on our own terms. Now all humanity is corrupted by our sin and wickedness and destined for death. God will not leave the wicked unpunished.
- God restores us to himself: God, in his mercy toward fallen humanity, chose a people for himself, Israel, through whom he brought the anointed one, Jesus Christ, both God and man, to defeat sin and death and restore God's kingdom on earth.
- Jesus entered into our death to bring us back to life: He died on a cross to pay for our sin and bear our just punishment, rose from the grave, showing his victory over death, and ascended into heaven, offering life to humanity again.
- Trust in Jesus's work: Those who turn from their sin and put their trust in God's work are brought from death to life with Jesus as they are united to him.
- Those who have received life are restored: As citizens of his kingdom, we rule and cultivate his world again by sharing the good news of our savior, Jesus Christ, and spreading his kingdom by caring for each other and for others.
